Welcome to The Actionable Mindset.
The mission of this blog is to offer guidance, resources and action items to help you improve not only your own life, but the lives of others. Have you been thinking a lot about saving up money to buy a house, start a business, go to grad school or go on a vacation (you know, in a post-pandemic world), but haven’t actually started to save? Or, have you tried to save but struggle to stay on a committed path to achieving your savings goal?
Maybe you’ve been hoping to get more involved with your local community, but feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to start: who to talk to, where you could volunteer time, how to get involved politically. You’re constantly angered by what’s happening in society, but never enough to take any actionable steps towards creating change.
Cue: The Actionable Mindset.
Here, you will find the tools, resources and motivation to get out of your head and take action. My name is Alex and I personally struggle with all of the above. I find myself constantly ruminating, thinking, wondering, dreaming; all of the things synonymous with inaction. As of today, I am done just thinking about what I could do and what could be. I am here to share with you the strategies and resources that have helped me, are helping me, to achieve results and achieve positive change in my life.
Yes, that all sounds super broad and generic. Hear me out. I have a particular focus and interest in using behavioral economics and techniques to make improvements in your life and stay on track. As a data and research nerd (I am a Research Assistant, after all), who has worked various jobs related to behavioral economics and science in one way or another, whether it be quitting smoking or saving to pay off credit card debt, I’ve seen real-world examples of how it all works. I am here to share that with you and empower you to get on track to take action towards the life you want to live.
